My research project will be to write about current research in my field of study.  I will be posting weekly summaries about interesting research that I have digested for each week this semester.  I am pursuing a BSE in Aerospace (Aeronautics) Engineering after I finish my last four classes this semester in the Maricopa CC system.

            M. L. Yusupovich  is the deputy head on educational affairs in Uzbekistan and commented about the Airbus (Tyrell, 2022) announcement of their blended wing hydrogen aircraft demonstrator in his peer reviewed research paper published in the Texas Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies on March 17, 2022.  He first lays out the case that research activities and funding should focus on for key areas.   The first being liquid hydrogen fuel and propulsion components, secondly aircraft systems, then infrastructure ramp-up, and finally regulatory framework  (Yusupovich, 2022) .             He shared that today, hydrogen fuel cell technology is being used for several types of applications including to provide emergency backup power to critical facilities like hospitals.  Also, to replace grid electricity for critical load facilities like data cente...

     My peer reviewed article this week is about " Perspectives on Environmental Barrier Coatings (EBCs) Manufactured via Air Plasma Spray (APS) on Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs):  A Tutorial Paper " published in Springer Nature's Journal of Thermal Spray Technology on February 9, 2021.  It was written by Kang N. Lee and Dongming Zho of NASA, and Rogerio S. Lima of the National Research Council of Canada (NRC).  It begins by explaining the objective of this paper is to present the reader of how and why these new coatings are being used in jet engines.  It explains the non-stop driving force behind increasing combustion temperatures of jet engines, showing the basic concepts of CMCs and the need of identifying the complexity of creating EBC architecture.  Finally, they showed how Environmental Barrier Coatings (EBCs) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) are tested at high temperatures  (ASM International, 2021) .     The driving force behind this new tech...
